What is GHB?

• GHB is a party drug that produces feelings of euphoria, confidence, relaxation and sociability.
• Side effects of GHB can include drowsiness, vomiting, mood swings, dependence, as well as more serious symptoms of unconsciousness in high doses.
• The risk of overdose increases when GHB is combined with other drugs such as alcohol, benzodiazepines and opioids.
• GHB is often known as ‘liquid ecstasy’
• GHB is usually swallowed or sometimes injected or inserted anally

Gamma-hydroxybutyrate, or GHB. It produces feelings of euphoria, relaxation and sociability, and an increased sex- drive. GHB acts as a nervous system depressant and poses a risk for dependence.
